The Sharp 1440V ENGINE LATHE is a precision lathe with a 14" swing and a 40" center. It is equipped with a D1-4 Camlock and a 1-1/2" bore. The spindle drive has a digital display, while the hi-low gear shift allows for a spindle speed range of 30 - 2,200 RPM. The lathe features induction hardened and ground bedways for a rigid structure, a jog button for easy engagement of gears, and a carriage equipped with overload clutch to protect gears and screws. It can be operated with either 3 phase or single phase electrics and has an electrically activated foot brake for quick stopping action. The lathe also comes with a built-in cabinet for tool storage. The capacity of the Sharp 1440V ENGINE LATHE includes a swing over bed of 14", swing over cross slide of 8-5/8", swing over gap width of 20", bed width of 8-1/2", and a distance between centers of 40". The headstock has a spindle nose type of D1-4 Camlock, a spindle bore of 1-1/2", and a taper of spindle bore of MT #5. The longitudinal feeds are inch per rev (40): 0.0012 - .0294" and the cross feeds are in/rev (40): 0.0003 - 0.01". The lathe has 40 inch threads of 4 - 112 TPI
