Bloodless Burdizzo Castrator - 19" Size The Bloodless Burdizzo Castrator is a heavy-duty emasculatome used for humane castration of livestock. It is designed to sever the testicular cord without causing any injury to the scrotum. Made with a polished stainless steel pincher and a cord stop, this castrator allows for bloodless castration. It also locks shut to reduce the chances of it opening during the castration process. When using the Bloodless Burdizzo Castrator, it is important to crush the spermatic cords one side at a time. After restraining the animal, simply grab the scrotum and find one of the testicles deep within the scrotal sac. Locate the spermatic cord and place the clamp over it one-third of the way down the scrotum. Clamp down and hold for 15 to 20 seconds. Release the clamp, reposition it over the spermatic cord one-half inch lower, and repeat the procedure. Perform the same steps on the other side to crush the other spermatic cord. Always check the position of the spermatic cord before and after each clamping to ensure accuracy. With this method, the scrotal sac will remain intact, and the testicles will atrophy over time.
