The Spirent Adtech 400308A AX/4000 ATM DS1 Interface provides a DS1 physical connection for AX/4000 Generator, Generator/Analyzer, and ATM Network Impairment Emulator test modules. This electrical interface supports cables with RJ-48, dual bantam, or DA-15 connectors and uses B8ZS coding at 1.544 Mbps. The interface adjusts automatically for operation at line terminated and monitor jack (bridge monitor) levels. The port interface can connect to transmit and receive cables that have one of the following connector types: RJ-48, dual bantam, and DA-15. The port interface can receive its transmit timing from a built-in crystal oscillator (INT), from the clock recovered from received data (LOOP), or from an external source via the EXT CLOCK IN connector (EXT). The BNC connector labeled EXT CLOCK IN is for an external 1.544 MHz transmit timing signal. The faceplate has eight LED indicators. Refer to the faceplate photo for a description of each LED function. The AX/4000 based controller software provides a Windows- or Unix-based graphical interface for setting up the port interface, triggering momentary and continuous errors and alarms, and for viewing port statistics.
